Mental health hero named 2023 Volunteer of the Year

A mental health worker who hosts more than 360 events a year aimed at getting people out of the house has been named the 2023 RAC WA Volunteer of the Year.

Along with a team of 30 volunteers, Mr Seth’s work engages people who are going through mental health difficulties and brings them out to social gatherings in an effort to reduce isolation.

He told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast he began organising events due to his lived experience, and doesn’t need the plaudits to know he’s doing good work.

“When I styarted seven years ago I didn’t see anything else around like it, so I just went with the idea and it’s taken on a life of it’s own,” Mr Seth said.
