Michelle Moriarty

As advanced as human beings are, we have an incredible knack of not communicating well when it comes to death or grief. It is something we will all experience, some earlier and more than others, but there’s nothing more certain.

Dealing with grief is the topic of our chat this week with Michelle Moriarty, the Founder of Grief Connect. She started this business after her own lived experience of losing her husband at the tender age of 38. The Award-winning business supports those who have suffered loss.

Communication around grief and the language used is so powerful. It forms the foundation of human connection, particularly during moments of profound loss. It encompasses more than just spoken words; it’s a complex interplay of tone, facial expressions, and gestures—non-verbal cues that convey what words often cannot. Effective grief communication goes beyond mere expression; it involves creating spaces where discussions about loss feel safe and supported.

Grief is tough to deal with particularly for the person experiencing it but there is a way we can support and help through our own communication. An amazing podcast by a very brave and driven woman.
